It’s Time to Go Beyond Sustainable

An Honest Assessment

  • Carbon Dioxide Pollution: Anthropogenic carbon dioxide pollution has caused our oceans to become 30% more acidic than pre-industrial times.

  • Plastic Pollution: 8 million pieces of plastic enter our oceans every day. This trash harms marine life, including coral, which interferes with the ocean ecosystem and its role as a climate mediator.

  • Sunscreen Pollution: 14,000 tons of sunscreen are dumped into the ocean each year. Many conventional sunscreens contain an alarming amount of chemicals that are detrimental to marine life. For example, one drop of oxybenzone in 660,000 gallons (that’s the equivalent of one drop per 150,000 bathtubs full of water) is enough to harm the reefs. In other words, everyone who swims in the ocean with this chemical on their body contributes to reef die-off.

  • Overfishing: Overconsumption depletes fish and other marine life populations at alarming rates, disrupting the vital balance that sustains coral and phytoplankton.

As a result of these overlapping and compounding issues, half of the world’s coral reefs have already been lost. If the reefs die, our oceans die, and we depend on our oceans.

Let’s Turn the Tide

  • Our sunscreen is the only sunscreen that contributes carbonate ions into the water while you swim.

  • Our packaging is made out of recycled ocean plastic and compostable material.

  • All of our formulas are non-toxic to you and the ocean.

  • Our ingredients promote and support a healthy ecosystem for fish and all marine life.
